Additional Comments: As well as Dave Ducharme, Lions’ other imports scored well during this game – Doug McEwen with 5+0 and Jaro Lycka with 2+3. Doug and Dave both scored Short-Handed goals. Chris Leggatt also did well with 1+1, but it was the team’s lacklustre performance during the second period, during which we were out-scored 3-0, that lost us this game. Things were very close, however. The score was 9-9 at 55:54, but then Bracknell scored at 59:01 and again at 59:25. Jaro scored our final goal (the last one of the game), unassisted, at 59:42 but we ended up losing by the narrowest of margins. Rick Smith was the Bees’ best scorer with 5+2, but I had down in the programme that he was actually from another team! If he hadn’t have been playing, maybe luck would have been on our side… |
