Additional Comments: Oh dear, we got a bit of a thumping on this night, but then having met Bracknell on 7 previous occasions and winning only 2 of those, we knew we’d have it tough, but 0-8 by the end of the second period?! Ironically our second goal, at 51:35 was a Short-Handed effort by Rod Schluter, but the Bees’ last goal was also Short-Handed (plus they got 2 Power Play goals too). The score could have been even worse, but Bracknell Bees had not one but two goals disallowed, at 16:44 and 40:00!!! They actually swapped netminders, changing from Gary Brine to Steve Francis at 42:13 but Gary had obviously done enough by this point to warrant his MOTM award anyway. The Lions Player of the Month (presumably for January ’91 as this was only the middle of February) was announced as being Eddie Joseph for Offence and Randy Oswald for Defence. Referee was Wright, Linesmen were Feehan and Crouch. |
