Additional Comments: The Lions put in plenty of effort during this game and appeared to have the upper hand for large parts of it. Although we easily out-played the opposition in the first few minutes it was the Sharks who made the most of a breakaway situation and scored the first goal of the game. Some harsh penalty calls dented the Lions’ enthusiasm and heads dipped, allowing the Sharks to race away with the lead. Tom Looker and Kwabina Oppong-Addai made their debuts for the Lions and both got points from the game. Unfortunately both players received Game penalties in the final period, which saw the Lions penalised with no fewer than 60 minutes. While both teams received a lot of penalties in the last period, the Lions scored 3 goals to the Sharks’ 1. Paul O’Neill got his first goal for the Lions in this game and Nick Braithwaite also got his first points of the season with 2 assists. Referees were Decaux and Neilly. |
