Dave Richards leaves Lee Valley

I’m sorry to announce that Dave Richards Jnr has decided to leave Lee Valley Lions. One of our best points-scorers, he’ll be missed. Dave sends his best wishes to all the Lions’ players and fans and says he’s had a great part-of-a-season with the team.

Joe Berry returns

I’m pleased to announce that Joe Berry has decided to re-join the Lions and has asked to be released from Romford Fury. Hopefully everything will be completed soon and he will be able to start icing for us in January.

News including comings, goings, players & coaches

Lots of news to tell everyone today:

As everyone will be aware from my previous post, Coach Dave Richards is currently recovering from a heart attack and is awaiting surgery. While he is recuperating we need the services of a qualified Level 2 coach. If you are interested in helping us out, please call Eddie Joseph on 07958-743680.

We are also looking to strengthen our squad by signing one or two more forwards and a further import player. If you meet one of these criteria and would like a try-out, please call Eddie (details above).

One new signing is Kwabina Oppong-Addai, who makes a welcome return to the Den after icing for us back in 2005/6 and 2006/7.

Lastly, we bid a sad farewell to netminder James Tipple, who has made the reluctant decision to retire from ice hockey. James – everyone at the club wishes you the very best and if you ever change your mind, we’d love to have you back.

Further new signings

Lee Valley Lions’ squad has been strengthened further with the signings of another four players. New to the team are Stuart Appleby and Chris Faulkner, returning from last season is Joss Clark and after a season at Haringey, Ashley Curtin also makes a welcome return.

With a full squad, the Lions are expected to have a promising season ahead.
