The Flyers are in Division One of the British Ice Hockey League and should offer formidable opposition in what is likely to be an extremely exciting game of ice hockey. “Last Sunday the Lions played away to Peterborough Pumas and they completed a convincing double, winning 15-1. During this game the Lions’ 100th goal was scored by Alan Sandford. This is a remarkable achievement as the Lions have only played 10 matches. “Goal minder, Andy Nunn, was denied a shut-out (no goals scored) by a solitary goal in the 3rd period for the second time against Peterborough. Lou Shipley amassed 10 points with his 3 goals and 7 assists and John Gordon scored 5 goals and 2 assists. “The players and staff are indebted to our supporters who made the long trek to Peterborough. Their vocal support was a tremendous inspiration to the team.”
