Additional Comments: Defenceman John Heneghan (“Rambo”) was introduced in the match programme. It said he’d “really bounced some Oxford forwards around last Sunday night. He is an ex London All Stars player and seems certain to be a good aquisition. Hit ’em hard and hit ’em often, John.” The programme also mentioned that there were a number of new rules that had been brought in that season, including the one allowing both teams a 30-second “Time Out.” Fred Sandford had returned to Lions’ duty the previous week but his brother, Alan, had become sidelined with cumulative injuries. |
