Additional Comments:

There are no stats or match report available so all I can do is mention what was printed on the introduction page of the match programme (author unknown, believed to be Mike Grafton AKA Mike Ewer)…

“We now approach the second half of the season with Lions facing some hard games ahead of them and tonight’s match is the first of them. Our visitors, the Solihull Barons, must surely be considered as leading contenders for the Division One title and if Lions can put it across them tonight it will be a great confidence booster for our lads.

“Our last encounter with Barons ended in an 8-8 tie and that was only an early season challenge game. Since then both teams have settled into very workmanlike, efficient and super-fit scoring outfits.

“As at Christmas Solihull had played 4 League matches, lost one, scored 50 goals and conceded 22. Lions had played 6 games, lost one to Telford, scored 66 with 33 against. Comparing both teams’ performances it would appear that they are evenly matched so we can look forward to another close encounter this evening.”
