Additional Comments: It was always satisfying to gain a win over our local rivals and this evening’s win was a convincing one, much to the delight of the paper-throwing Lions fans seated at the far end! Defenceman Jaro Lycka played a great game, scoring 3+2 in the process. Eddie Joseph scored 1+1 and Tari Suwari (yes, he was still playing for the Lions!) scored 1+0. As was usual for a game against Romford there were quite a number of penalties. It all kicked off at 58:02, however, when (in the opinion of the Lions’ fans) Ali Rodger was attacked and a mini riot involving the whole teams ensued, with the police arriving!!! From this Ali received a 2+2 double minor plus a Game Misconduct, as did Raiders’ Lennox McCatty. Referee was Moore, Linesmen were Hall and an unnamed stripey. |
