Additional Comments: A match where we were equal with Romford, both in terms of goals and penalty minutes! This was actually the first time we had ever played Romford, who had been formed for over a year and the intense rivalry between the two teams would not diminish over the years! Chris Leggatt certainly deserved his Man of the Match award, as he scored 3+1. Dave Ducharme also had a good game with 2+2. Chris got himself into the only bit of proper roughing during the game, with Lennox McCatty. Both players received 2+2 for Roughing, plus Chris got an additional 2-mins for High Sticks, all at 23:19. The match programme announced that Terry Locks had taken over from Mike Smith as the Lions’ manager, with Terry Mills as Assistant Manager. Referee was Moore, Linesmen were Hawkes and Porter. |
