Additional Comments:

A satisfying win over Slough, who were always difficult to beat. Dave Duchame had a fantastic game, scoring 6+2, but mention should also go to Doug McEwen with 2+1 and Ali Rodger with 1+4. Doug in fact scored an amazing goal at 29:16, which was our 8th of the match. It was an unassisted Power Play. Dave also scored an outstanding goal at 58:20. Our last goal, at 59:39, was scored on an open net as the Jets had pulled their goalie. We managed to score no less than five Power Play goals during this game, while Slough scored two.

Doug McEwen and Brian Mason both received 4-mins for Unnecessary Roughness at 55:09. This was started initially by Doug being hit in the downstairs department! Other penalties included Neil Browne receiving 2+10 for Spearing at 24:16 and Brian Biddulph getting 2-mins for Cross Checking plus 2-mins for Roughing plus 10-mins, all at 28:25.

After getting a bit of ribbing from the crowd, referee Jenkins shouted back “Do you want to borrow some of my brain – I know some of the rules!” The fans retorted with “Can you spare it?!”

Referee was Jenkins, Linesmen were Moore and Williams.
