Additional Comments: On our first Autumn trophy match against Haringey we’d lost by just one goal, so it was nice to gain revenge on our home ice. Derek Higdon had a spectacular game, as did Brad Wilson (3+3) and Darren Bloomfield (2+0). For the Racers it was ex-Lion (and Brit) Danny O’Hanlon doing the honours with 4+3. The Racers changed their netminder at 30:11, going from Mike Shead to Oscar Long. As it turned out poor Oscar actually let in more goals than Mike, although they had half the game each. There was a little bit of roug stuff during this match, with Steve James getting 2-mins for Holding + 2-mins for Roughing and Glen Kehrer getting 2-mins for Hooking + 2-mins for Roughing at 11:58. Darren Bloomfield and Perry Tomlinson both received 2-mins for Roughing at 27:48. The last penalty of the match was at 55:59, when Darren Peries received 2-mins for the offence of Checking From Behind. Referee was Batchelder, Linesmen were Ashraff and Harris. |
